The Transaction Manager is responsible for managing Invitation Homes’ Investment Management Group’s (IMG) Transaction management and support team. Duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing and facilitating closing functions for all active markets, supervising the transaction support team and supporting single asset and bulk transactions for both acquisitions and dispositions.
What You’ll Do
Manage and direct diligence, closing and onboarding of assets for single family homes and bulk acquisitions.
Manage and direct closing and offboarding of assets for single family homes and bulk dispositions.
Coordinate all due diligence and closing activities with Investment Management Group (IMG) Directors, Analysts, Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents across all states and markets.
Develop, implement, and manage closing process workflows, policies and procedures.
Monitor acquisition and disposition pipelines to ensure critical deadlines are met and company interests are protected.
Monitor systems for data accuracy and completeness.
Manage transaction details and process documents when direct reports are out of the office
Review, approve and execute closing packages across multiple states and markets.
Manage diligence review including, but not limited to, Title, HOA, inspections, lease review and closing process for bulk transactions.
Review and understand real estate contracts and laws in multiple states.
Evaluate and resolve transaction, title, and data integrity issues.
Create, maintain, evaluate and enhance systems, processes, procedures and workflow.
Provide support, documents and data to accounting, treasury, property management, property compliance, auditors and other departments as needed.
Coordinate with accounting, legal, operations, and IT departments to establish and maintain data and document accessibility and integrated workflow.
Liaison with realtors, affiliates, banks, escrow and title companies nationwide on MLS, short sale, REO, trustee and other sourcing channels to establish and maintain efficient transaction procedures.
Contribute to management strategy meetings to foster interdepartmental interaction and overall business growth and success.
Responsible for hiring, developing, and managing employees within the closing team.
Monitor workflow and appropriately allocate resources.
Assist Vice President of Investments with ad hoc projects as needed.
Who We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business or related field
7 to 10+ years of experience in Real Estate industry
Must have expert lever knowledge of transaction management, and escrow & title functions
Must be able to effectively manage a large team
Excellent verbal/ written skills along with strong interpersonal and management skills
Ability to deliver superior customer service
Ability to effectively evaluation situations and make decisions
Proactive attitude
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work well under pressure
Must have high level of organization and strong attention to detail
Must have ability to consistently meet deadlines, multi-task and problem solve
Must be comfortable working in fast-paced, high volume, deadline-oriented environment
Must have ability to be a self-starter and create new processes
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel
Have strong knowledge of state and federal closing laws, including Foreign Seller and other tax withholding requirements
