Located in our Dallas, TX corporate headquarters, the Analyst, FP&A Projects will be a member of the FP&A team within the Company’s Financial Planning & Quantitative Analytics ("FPQA") group. The Analyst, FP&A Projects will be responsible for assisting managing the company’s Anaplan Environment, long-term analytical projects, and new development of new Anaplan models. In addition to these responsibilities, this role will assist in providing analytical support for Invitation Homes’ executive leadership team in collaboration with Property Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Operations, Asset Management, Investment Management, and Investor Relations counterparts as it pertains to FP&A and/or Anaplan.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize a variety of tools and technologies-such as Anaplan, Excel, KNIME, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, and R-to develop and maintain scalable data pipelines, reporting solutions, and analytics.
  • Maintain and update the structural components of the FP&A team’s Anaplan models monthly to support ongoing financial planning and reporting activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize data workflows, enhance analytical methodologies, and streamline FP&A processes for improved efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Oversee recurring data integration processes and data validation efforts, including the loading, transformation, and reconciliation of financial and operational data across Anaplan models. Ensure timely and accurate updates to support monthly closes, forecasts, and business performance reporting.
  • Lead and support a range of reporting and analytics initiatives, including development of dashboards, automation of recurring reports, and creation of data visualizations to support stakeholder needs and executive decision-making.
  • Participate in system testing and validation efforts, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure data solutions meet business requirements and function as intended.
  • Perform in-depth analyses of complex data sets sourced from multiple platforms including Yardi, Anaplan, Salesforce, ADP, internal data warehouses, and other enterprise systems. Translate data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L reviews, quarterly reforecasting, and annual budgeting processes to the via Anaplan.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization-including Accounting, SEC Reporting, Business Analytics, Capital Markets, Operations, Asset Management, and Investment Management-to analyze, validate, and communicate financial and operational results at various levels of the organization.
  • Provide flexible support on ad-hoc projects, special initiatives, and emerging business needs, contributing to the overall effectiveness and agility of the FP&A function.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree and strong academic record in Data Analytics, Business Analytics or data related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS, JD, etc.) or certifications (CFP, CFA, CPA, etc.) a plus, but not required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in data analysis, financial modeling, or business intelligence.

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Willingness to learn financial planning software; prior exposure to Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Host Analytics, and/or other IBM or Oracle systems is a bonus.
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Comfort and familiarity with basic finance and accounting theory. Ability to read and comprehend financial statements, including both GAAP and non-GAAP reporting.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity and discipline required. Ability to demonstrate strong self-initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to work with numbers, analyze trends, and draw meaningful insights. Ability to break down complex problems and recommend data-driven solutions. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; team oriented.
  • Familiarity with data science tools, including R or Python, preferred.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Workiva, PowerBI and/or Tableau, preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Must maintain professional appearance.
  • Must be in-person four days per week.
  • Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; overtime may be required for this position.
  • Minimal travel may be required.

Physical and Metal Demands

  • This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
  • The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is: $61,650.00 - $106,860.00, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
