The Data Engineer will join a small, energetic and collaborative team to help implement and expand upon our current product offerings to our residents, as well as our operations, marketing and leasing teams. This is the first step in joining Invitation Home’s agile development team focused on our public website and be a part of building a many key features in JavaScript, HTML/CSS & SQL.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their business goals 

  • Propose solutions that meet needs of stakeholders 

  • Design and implement features, incorporating feedback from the team 

  • Writing automated tests and working with the quality assurance team for any additional manual testing 

  • Deploying the features and monitoring its impact in production 

  • May perform additional projects upon request 

 

Qualifications/Requirements 

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree from a 4-year accredited university in Technology or other related field with an expected graduation date between December 2023 and May 2024

  • Understanding of data, databases, and data structures 

  • Knowledge of Java or Python 

  • Passion for troubleshooting data issues 

  • High degree of organizational skill and problem-solving ability; specifically, the ability to work as self-starter 

  • Desire to grow professionally and collaborate with others 

  • Ability to prioritize/execute to achieve desired company and project goals with prudence and sense of urgency 

  • Eager to learn - there will be much that is new, not just learning technologies and techniques but also understanding the needs of our business 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). 

  • Desire to work in Dallas, Texas
