Job Summary

The Copywriter will work with the Brand Strategy & Creative Services Manager along with the creative and content team to develop and execute brand communications ensuring superior writing that span across multiple channels and content types - including but not limited to - website, digital advertising, social media, email, and brochures. They will creatively elevate the customer and resident experience and execute within a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Copywriter will write and edit copy for a variety of projects, including resident communications, digital advertising, social media, and other channels
  • Work closely with the creative team to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop messaging
  • Be able to translate complex issues to plain language that engages target audience for the communication
  • Write creative and fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, journalism, English, communications, or related discipline or 5 years relevant work experience in communications, advertising, public affairs, and/or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a related position

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Understanding and consistent execution of company voice and tone
  • Ability to optimize, adapt, and edit communications to be scannable and succinct 
  • Comfortably vary voice and style demanded by target audience and channel
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to be an agile, flexible team player
  • Prioritizing and managing tasks across multiple projects
  • Quantitative, qualitative, Brand and Satisfaction monitoring, and UX/UI testing
  • Write copy for digital content that meets brand and company objectives, while working collaboratively with creative team and stakeholders
  • Stay well-informed about the latest trends in web copy, and tone for social media 
  • Proofread, edit and optimize copy
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times
  • Strong organizational and project management skills

Physical and Mental Demands

This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking. This position requires the ability to talk, hear, compare, compute, compile, copy, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate and communicate.
